SENIOR ROM our pinnacle oT glory as mighTy and loTTy high school seniors we Tell, in l93O. To spring-green freshmen buT we survived wiThouT scraTches, as our picTures show. The Freshmen A's-abouT ThirTy in number-had a pleasanT Time having Freshmen Week policing abouT one hundred and eighTy callow young men and women who could noT TorgeT Their pasT nobiliTy and digniTy. No cosmeTics. no iewelry, immense idenTiTicaTion Tags pinned on wiTh giganTic saTeTies. green socks and Ties hanging in The gym Tor inTracTion oT The sacred laws! Our beTTers by half a year could noT cope wiTh The siTuaTion. They called in The Juniors and so iT is due To us. The presenT senior class, ThaT The cusTom was inauguraTed oT having The Freshmen enTerTained by The Juniors. ln our second year we had our Junior Prom aT The HoTel Suburban. EasT Orange. and had The besT oT Times alThough we had Taken exams a Tew hours earlier--The biTTer beTore The sweeT. OT course we could Tell you abouT The Term papers we wroTe, The sTudying we did. The books we read, The cramming we did, and sh! lThe cuTTingl, buT we won'T, save To say ThaT we grew very proTicienT in The higher branches oT learning and also developed abiliTies noT speciTied in The course oT sTudy-which unTorTunaTely we can- noT TransTer To our TuTure classes. As seniors we reTrieved our losT digniTy and The aTTendanT responsibiliTy. There 'Followed a whirl oT social gaieTy. Senior B Tea, VarsiTy Show, Senior Luncheon, Senior Ball. You wonder how we ever managed To graduaTe-we wonder wiTh you. Even The mosT blase senior Teels an uncomTorTable TighTness abouT The ThroaT now ThaT The Time oT leave-Taking has come. For us iT is CommencemenT. The world never needed new blood and new ThoughT as iT needs iT now. Our goal is awaiTing us- shadowier perhaps, Than ever beTore,-buT There.
