Through using so much time for one activity, one never learns of the variety life has to offerg just as the class of '88 must beware of attending school for good grades only. Instead, education must become the goal - not merely an education of books and rulers, but also of experience and artistic challenge. JUNIORS - SECTION BY BRADLEY YATES EN ' g A I J' -Dv I .,,Y'?' Nothing exciting is happening - the first year of high school is complete and graduation is only a dim star on the horizon. Thus far the task of education has been met, so one should not give up the challenge when half-way accomplished. Keep a stiff upper lip and face the future. Typical freshman pranks have accented their first high school year, and permanently marked a privileged few as Luther's rug rats. Yet, it was the cheering of the freshmen which saved the pep rallies - so, maybe there's hope after all. Among their many duties and obligations, they must make and enforce rules which develop students into responsible individuals. Constant evaluation of the curriculum aids the students in properly preparing for the future. However, the extracurricular activities of the students are also supported by the administration, financially, as well as morally. ADMINISTRATION - SECTION BY KFIISANN LONGACRE Mr. Luther, our principal, has always been looked up to by most students. Many of us were able to laugh with him and enjoy his sense of humor. Still, there were the other students, the silent ones, lurking cautiously about the halls. Perhaps they felt that their obscurity would prevent, them from punishment or acknowledgement by Mr. Luther. However, our all-knowing, all-seeing Mr. Luther never let any of these students escape his attention. His relationship with the students is a special part of Mr. Luther. These memories will not escape our all-remembering minds. has, he Monday it is the and regulations that impish little l this! at our the hall rest and CED who hose low, vice-principal Terrellstate Bank we would VOICE Who put the super-glue in my hand lotion?? Each sport requires a different skill and occasionally a unique personality, yet all demand dedication, hours of practice, a love for the sport, and the ability to accept victory and defeat with grace and dignity. Only when a player acquires these qualities may he be truly called a sportsman with all the right stuff. They pushed hard, gambled it all and came up winning. This season will be relived in the minds of these seniors for many years to come. That first yard gained, lineman tackled, field goal made, punt kicked, touchdown felt in the hearts of these hard-working, dedicated Lions are some of the stuff which began Kaufman's quest for State. However, these strong fish have survived that difficult first football season. They sweat drops of blood, determination, and pain over the summer, desperate to catch hold of a bit of the glory inherent in a true Kaufman Lion. Yet, more than blood, determination, and pain, it takes pride to play for the Lions as a freshman. J.V. No longer a freshman, not yet on varsity, those on junior varsity are suspended in limbo. Having experienced the hard work it takes to play Kaufman football, the Lions push on toward perfection. Practicing in rain, sleet, fog, and other such foul weather, they dream of one day achieving that varsity status. So, the junior varsity is unique in its own hard work, perseverance, and dreams. ,F wi' .ff N wx' . 5 'aa , f, i ' 2' Movies To Go Electronic Svstems: Inn Www KAUFMAN KAUFMAN KAUFMAN KAUFMAN KAUFMAN KAUFMAN KAUFMAN KAUFMAN KAUFMAN KAUFMAN KAUFMAN .
