pfag-acfing un Christmas rush at Kauai High School includ- ed gaiety and laughter in all homerooms, where the annual Christmas parties were held. All kinds of delicious food were spread on the table, and boys and girls had a merry time consuming them. The seriousness and monotony of everyday school lite changed into a bright scene, where even teachers participated in games. Students happily volunteered to do chores that ordinarily were dis- tasteful to them. Active freshmen held the spotlight and cap- tured the hearts of many with their touching characterizations in Birds' Christmas Carol. This was truly a time to be jolly. There were other interesting happenings, too. The campus thespians were extremely active. Their children's play group made numerous trips to Lihue Grammar School to present short plays forthe pleasure ofthe little ones. Hilarious pup- pet shows delighted the members of the speech classes, as well as the kindergarten children. Among them were the se nior banquet held at Kauai Inn on May ll, the May Day pageant held on April 29, and the se nior tree planting ceremony. The most important of all events was the Raiders' Round Up Carnival at which students, teachers, alumni, and parents united their efforts to make the affair a success both financially and experience-wise, Patrons enjoyed the variety shows and the games of skill that were devised by the students.
