Metalwork, Mechanical Bookkeeping l-ll, Ill-IV Drawing, Athletic Coach Typing I The Vocational Department at Kauai High School offers a very complete range of courses in commercial, agriculture, mechanics, and home economics. In the commercial field, typing, shorthand, bookkeeping, and office training are the sub- jects offered. The plan of the agricultural course is to teach boys improved methods and techniques in farming. The opportunity for talented students to do fundamental and basic work in metalwork, woodwork, and mechanical drawing with all the necessary equipment is one of the aims of the mechanical course. One of the major goals of the home eco- nomics class is to inspire the home. Home- makers are taught the problems and con- struction of clothing, good grooming, family relations, child care, and the scientific study of foods, The photography class, a new feature this year, taught the basic facts of photography and successfully constructed a dark room. A student who completes any of these courses in this wide field, is well on his way to serve his community or is prepared to at- tend advanced technical schools. v X I cf . 3,5 . b ff , .
