An overwhelming victory went to the outstanding cast of this year's one-act play. After many hours of hard work, Mr. Williamson's Scroungy Six walked away with five honors. The first and most important one was the first place trophy for the best play in District 20-AA. Another was that two of the group headed the all-star cast as best actor, Bobby Wheless and best actress, Sandy Fussell. Two of the remaining cast, Steve Cummings and Janice Murray, were named to the all-star cast. The critic judge was Mr. Lynn Murray, head director of drama from Sam Houston State College, Huntsville, Texas. The play did not place at the regional contest, but one of the cast, Sandy Fussell, received honorable mention for her portrayal of Ginger , ,Even though they were defeated,' the group felt that just the experience of working together played an important role in each of their own, personal victories. The cast's special thanks go out to their faithful crew, Sandy Youngblood, Virginia Legett, and Bill Baker, who stood by them through victory and defeat. Most of all they owe their victory to Mr. Willimnson whose expert directing gave them the ability to keep that first place trophy in Katy.
