Tllzis 1ye?r's band under the direction of Mr J. R. Bankston was once again active in school life The band played for 12 high sc oo ootball games. They entered the U.I.L. Marching Contest and received a First Division The Katy High School Band was named the All District Band and All Regional Band. At the U.I.L. Solo and Ensemble Contest Katy Band came home with 22 First Divisions an-d 8 Second Divisions. They marched in the annual Katy F.F.A. Parade and received a First place trophy in the Marching Bands Division. At U.I.L. Concert and Sightreading Contest they received 2 First Divisions which made them the Sweepstakes winner of Class AA. On May 19 the Band presented its annual Spring Concert. The high school Chorus is directed by Mr. Bankston. 8
