Marilyn Self placed first in declamations at UIL District Meet with her interpretations of Little Orphan Annie. Roger Barcak placed first in declamations in our school, but clue to car trouble failed to get to the District Meet. Pictured below shows members of the class showing posters and reading en- velopes. Each student made a small poster to indicate his interest in reading. He also made the card envelope and pastecl his picture on it. Each time he read a book he made a summary on a card and placed it in the envelope. During The summer The Addicks Independ- ent School District was partitioned into Three districts, Katy, Houston, and Spring Branch. A bill validating This partition was passed by The Texas Senate, Saturday, August 5, 1961.
