Sophomores of '56! This was an enterprising year for our class. We had a twirler and a cheer- leader. Besides that we had two all-district foot- ball players, not to mention the other good players. In basketball we had boys on the A and B teams, and we were well represented on the track team, and we were in every organization where we could be, there were sophomores-in the band, in the pep squad, and in most of the clubs. Many were leaders or excelled in these groups. We sent some of our members to interscholastic League and brought back several ribbons, Within our class we had a fine group of officers to lead us. The president this year was Albert Thompson, Jr., and the vice president, Angela Heinemier. Our secretary was Sandra Higgins, treas- urer, John Fry, reporter, Carol Grisbee, and ser- geant-at-arms, Jack Rhoads. We also had some won- derful sponsors and room mothers, without whom we could not have had the enioyable movie party the first semester and the nice chicken barbecue the second. The sponsors were. Miss Swogetinsky, Mr. Whit- more, and Mr. Baker. SOPHOMORES Class officers at work at the Halloween Carnival, W 'ws Class favorites: Sandra Higgins and John Culpepper
