GERALDINE GRACE '19 XVith the coming of peace the high tension that has held us up through this troubled year has abated a little, and with this abatement has come to us, and to our efforts and achievements, a tendency to relax. Girls, don't relax! Don't fall back! A year ago we were held together by a common bond-the determined purpose of every one of us to give all she could in point of service to the cause that then was paramount-the winning of the War. Now there is before us a purpose as great, as compelling, as momentous, and of far greater concern to humanity-the Winning of Peace. The one meant saving the lives and maintaining the purposes of our armies, the other means bringing happiness, contentment, and security to the World. Altogether, the last year has been one of many trials. It was filled with excitement and distraction, and then, to aggravate it all, we were quarantined. Our school Work was broken into and disarranged, and to Work, already hard, Was added the further burden of catching up. But consider What Miss Burke and the teachers have done for us during these months of hard Work. They have helped us to make up lost work, lVorks and Days l27l
