Eagerly we looked forward fo fha Junior Prom, 'rhe biggesf evenf of our year. The theme, Our Very Own . of our dance was a happy climax as each Cin- derella danced gaily across The floor wifh her Prince Charming. The annual class picnic was held a+ Hanalei. Again we had a celebrafed week wiih big laughs and fha broadest smiles. In a candlelighi ceremony. five Juniors were inducfed info our Nafional Honor Sociefy. They were Peggy Smifh, Arnold Bapfisfe, May Hirose. David Ueoka, and Toshio Higa. Once again, Arnold Bapfisfe won fhe fifle of The Champion Orafor of Kauai. His fopic on World Brofherhoodu was well orafed, as he fool: fhird in 'the ferriforial finals. For her achievemenf in 4-H work, Jean Na- gahiro was awarded a frip fo Washingfon, D. C., where she mel' Presidenf Harry S. Truman, and many ofher famous people.
