The Omega chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma was proud to celebrate its 100th birthday this year. The Centennial celebration marked another busy year in terms of both on and off-campus involvement. With rehabilitation as the national philanthropy, the Omega chapter has supported the Special Olympics program for the past two years. Pre-game balloon sales have soared, turning the project into a great success. Also, Kappa participation in other philanthropies was equally strong and enthusiastic. The KKG competitive spirit surfaced as the Kappa athletes took the fields and often proved to be a top contender in the intramural programs. The Homecoming float with the AKL ' s, and the Encore entry with the Sigma Chi ' s were a few of the many special events of the year. Plus, Gower Place had a face lift as new landscaping beautified the house grounds. No, this year was not just another candle on the cake; instead, 1983-84 was a banner year for Kappa Kappa Gamma. 61.
