xvSB New Denison Hall, dedicated in 1961, bears only the name of its forerunner, as the new building holds English, not Chemistry classes. Almost hidden from sight behind the trees stands the Student Union, now being enlarged to accommodate the growing student enrollment. 7X1 S

Built in 1937 to replace Denison Hall which burned three years before, Willard Hall houses the physical sciences. In 1945, a plan of campus building improvement at Kansas State University was designed and labeled the Campus of Tomorrow. At that time, buildings such as the Student Union, Ahearn Fieldhouse, Boyd and Putnam dormitories, Eisenhower Hall, Justin Hall, Student Health, the Chapel, wings to Waters and Seaton Halls, Bushnell Hall and the Auditorium were merely drawings on paper. The campus of tomorrow as envisioned was not complete, for many more buildings have been added. Aside from the original plans, Veterinary Hall and Hospital, Feed Technology building, Umberger Hall, the Animal Industries Building, Goodnow Hall, Denison Hall, an addition to Kedzie Hall, three Scholarship houses, Nuclear Science Hall, and Jar- dine Terrace, married students housing, to name but a few, have been constructed. The 1962 Royal Purple features the campus of tomorrow the newest buildings, equipment, re- search programs. However, the campus of tomorrow is only as accurate as today. The face of the University will change; the campus of tomorrow will change. The Royal Purple records it as we saw it in 1962.
