Administrators Direct University Activities The most extensive building program in K-State ' s history, coupled with an all-time high in faculty salaries, were gained through the efforts of the Board of Regents. Establishing the general policies of the five state schools, the Board this year abolished out-of-state tuition for international students. Albert L. Pugsley, dean of academic administra- tion, coordinates and supervises the academic pro- gram, and approves all staff appointments. Max Milbourn, assistant to the president, fre- quently fills in for the president. He is chairman of such committees as the KSU Civil Defense Com- mittee, Public Relations Council, and the General Scholarship Committee. Milbourn works with the state legislature and coordinates a variety of uni- versity matters. Business manager Daniel D. Beatty is responsible to the president for preparing the annual budget and all appropriation requests. He is also in charge of the financial operation of all auxiliary enterprises and the finances of the university and subdivisions.

Deans Aim Attention At Student Problems Dean of Students Herbert J. Wunderlich headed the division of Personnel Services. Concerned with the selection and hiring of the staff for all divisions of the personnel program, Dean Wunderlich also focused his attention on more adequate housing for women students. A $1,200,000 women ' s residence hall now under construction will be used in 1962. Primarily concerned with improving housing and dormitory facilities for women students, Margaret Lahey, associate dean of women, selected the staffs for the women ' s residence halls and directed the housemother ' s workshop. Advising and counseling women students also filled Dean Lahey ' s time. Advising international students was one of the major responsibilities of Charles Wildy, assistant dean of students. He was also executive secretary of the general scholarship committee, counseled men students, and coordinated the orientation program. The Faculty Senate shaped the purposes and character of the University. Concerned with the over- all academic program, the Senate made a major policy decision by approving the discontinuation of class attendance reports to the deans ' offices. Serving from the Dean of Student ' s offices are Associate Dean Margaret Lahey, faculty advisor to the All Womens ' m Encountering both academic and disciplinary problems of K-State students is Herbert Wunderlich, dean of students. Students program, and Assistant Dean Charles H. Wildy, international students advisor and men ' s counselor.
