Deal Rock aptain Deal has had assignments in six Fighter Squadrons making three Western Pacific! lndian Ocean deployments and four cruises to the MediterraneanlNorth Sea. He com- manded the Jolly Rogers of Fighter Squadron Eighty-Four for one of those Med deployments. His last sea duty assignment was as Operations Officer of the USS-ABRAHAM LINCOLN taking this carrier from final construc- tion at Newport News through South American transit. airwing integration. and first deployment to the Western Pacific!Persian Gulf. Shore assignments included Assist Chief Test Director with VX-4 fFighter Weapons and Tactics Test and Evalua- tionj, Assistant Engineering Director for the F-I4 at NAVAIRSYSCOM, and Executive Officer of the F-I4 Fleet Replacement Squadron at Oceana. He was last assigned to USACOM as head of joint task force peace operations training. CAPT Deal received a B.A. from Stanford University and an NROTC commission in 1972 and holds an lVl.S. in Systems Management from the University of Southern California and an Nl-A in International Relations from Salve Regina Universitv He is '1 1992 Graduate of Sim Nimonu' WM College and Wits it C-NU l'cllow with Strategic Studies Cil'0llP 'Il. ' His wife Gail and children Katherine. Rebecca, and Matthew make their hom? in Virginia Beach.
