DEP RT NT AT A GLANCE Deck Department consist of two large Divisions with a total manning of between sixty and seventy five men per Division. As a depart- ment. we are responsible for the maintenance and opera- tion of all underway replen- ishment equipment, six ships' boats. flight deck and all avi- ation facilities, ship's eleva- tors, anchors and ground tackle, two cargo booms and the preservation of the ship's sides and many topside spaces. Deck Department provides .5 3 ' gf 7 1 . -1 x men for lookouts, bridge watches. gllll CFCWS and repair parties. In addition, all underway replenishment teams are made up of Deck Department personnel. Our rating specialties within Deck Department include Boatswain's Mate, Machin- ists Mates and Electricians Mates.
