ENTHUSIASTIC STAFF BURNS MIDNIGHT OIL T0 PRODUCE 1 PAPER The 1976-77 newswriting staff changed the newspaper's name from Kaleo 0 Kahuku to its present name Country Chronicle . This year a new fee policy was introduced to the staff and students . lnspite of the dollar subscription cost many students still wanted the paper because it kept them informed . With lVlrs. Ng supervising the staff, they worked hard to put the newspaper together. At the end of the year a banquet was helc for the staff in recognition of the hard work done in making the newspaper a success . x, Toni Ferris, a novice reporter, seeks advice from lVlrs. Ng. LEADERS ORGIINIZE STUDENT ACTIVITIES This year's student council was led by five hard-working and determined officers: Presi- dent Vonn Logang Vice-President Donna Kekuap Recording Secretary IVlaelanie Hammondp Corresponding Secretary Jane Ann Taala and Treasurer Arlene Shiroma. With the help of advisor Lokelani Lindsey, the student council was well organized and efficient. Throughout the year, numerous dances and activities for the student body were held. ln addition to the homecoming festivities, SpiritWeek got the students into the spirit of homecoming. After the game, a great dance was held to the sound of Sweet Luv! ln December the student council planned and prepared for the dedication of the new adminis- tration building. A dance was also held on December 10 getting the students excited a- bout the coming of Christmas! Almost every week the committee chairmen got together with their workers to discuss and plan new activities for the student body.
