W, Q .V High pitched whining of blowers Roaring of large hot gears Valves clapping open and shut Others letting steam squeek by Large shafts spinning with a dull roar the high speed splash of pumps Decks vibrating and rolling beneath his feet Heat humidity and boredom Turn a valve look at a gage Water all about him and more water swirling below his soles Look at a gage, turn a valve A casualty! Look out! Grab a wrench! Get a bigger hammer! Turn that valve! The efforts of spent energy pouring off his brow Restored. Relax. Collapse. A challenge to all, it is.
