C lass istory In the year of 1965 , 32 students started out together in the first grade. Of the 32, the following 27 have graduated: Penny Bailey, Sally Brown, Harvey Carter, Dean Cook, David Ethredge, Randy Evans, Janet Fultz, Teresa Han, Janey Hux, Ricky Jerry, Jamie Martindale, Lena McDonald, Mel- vin Moss, Jimmy Owens, Johnette Owens, Lawrence Pepper, Ricky Pepper, Debra Price, Liz Rat- cliff, Marsha Smith, Becky Snider, Sharon Taylor, Jeff Thurlkill, Kevin Thurlkill, Don Williams, Dan Wood. We all remember in the first grade, that day when Liz, Dena, Debra P. , Sally, and David E. tried to scare Mrs. Grider by jumping out of the bathroom. Everybody got in trouble except David because he said he was using it. The third grade was the year all the girls in Mrs. Adams' room got their shoes tied on for taking them off and scuffing them on the floor. In the fourth grade we finally caught up with Stevie Cates, and Ricky and Rodney Summers. Diane Taylor also joined us from El Dorado that year. This was also the year that came the task of learning the multiplication tables. Everybody had to stay in at recess until you made a hundred on the test. That was also the year that everyone had to learn to square dance . Alice McDonald came all the way from Rayville in the fifth grade, and Jodye McLaughlin brought her big mouth from El Dorado. In the sixth grade, Bobby Carter, Kenneth Gray, Cassandra Henry, Barbara Hoof, Donald Hunter, Richard Johnson, Margaret Moore, Danny Nelson, Belinda Paschal, Willie Jean Scott, Willie Mae Skinner, and Ruby Waller joined us. Later that year we added Betty Ann Hamilton to our class. And nobody will forget the day in Mrs. Neal's room when class was interrupted by a sky diving rat that fell through the hole in the ceiling. The seventh grade was the year the love bug struck our class. Those bitten were: Lena and Dan, Debra and Michael French, Janey and David, Becky and Lawrence, Liz and Cliff Mortan, Jodye and Jeff, Sally and Jeff, Diane and Randy. That also was the year that several of the girls made good use of the World Books in the library. Gwena Milhollen McLelland came to be with us from Star City. In the ninth grade, Donald Creer joined us. This year also brought a change of life to our class, we all got to cross the road. Everybody stayed lost for a whole day. But it didn't take us long to find our way around . In the tenth grade we gained Brian Hux from Australia, and Cathy Williams Caldwell from El Dorado. In the eleventh grade Debra McDill came from Mississippi. In our SENIOR year CFINALLY! ! lj, we added Angie Lewing from Hamburg, Danny Coffman from Sterling Park VA, and we also had an exchange student from Brazil, Hilda Falcao. The Annual staff will never forget the day, David E. threw over S200 of advertising money in the trash can at McDonald's. The graduating class of 1977 will always remember the good friends, good tmes, and bad times we had here. To all of you that we leave behind , we hope that you will remember us for a long time to come.
