For the last twenty years, Miss O'Dono- ghue has been involved in worldwide education, the last five years being in Zambia, Africa. She has an ex- tensive knowledge of schooling situations. It,s not just another job. It gave me the opportunity to work with the students, particularly. She felt that this sort of job was challenging and meaningful for her, although she says, It was hectic and tiring at times, but it still proved rewardingf' Miss O,Donoghue likes the people she's working with, including the counselors, staff, and especially the students. Itis her favorite part of her job. Asked what her main goal was for the year, she re- plied, To create a constant, happy environment and to help the girls to grow into mature women? The year was full of happiness and was good all the year round. 5 - ,Xxx ' Richard Long Richard Long was our new Head of Boys, Residence this year. With his experience in Africa and in the Peace Corps, Mr. Long did an excellent job of keeping things in order. Students are the same all over the world. They all require the same amount of time and under- standing. I found out that at Judson, the students are more cooperative than anywhere else I,ve worked. Mr. Long's goals were fulfilled this year. He wanted to create a home atmosphere and to get the staff to re- spect the students, like the students do them. I want the students to feel wanted and not lonelyf' When it came to accomplishing things for the school, Mr. Long was ifl. He worked day and night to organize and reorganize the clubs and activities on campus. Asked what he liked best about Judson, Mr. Long replied, The international mixture of all the students here is fantastic.

Bookstore meets needs Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week and eight months of the year, our nurses worked for better health and inspiration among the students here at Judson. One of the nurses said that the infirmary tried its hardest to cure anything from homesickness to heartache and from head colds to sore toes. The head nurse did a good job of keeping a sense of organization in the infirmary throughout the year. The registered nurses, who were busy both night and day, were restoring health and preventing health hazards for a better environment here on campus. Distributing books was just one of the many ever- present tasks that Mrs. Lib Schaare and Mrs. Grace Hovland have done this year. Besides supplying us with e such necessities as shampoo, stationery, toothpaste and , .Qi at T-shirts, these ladies have saved lives by having a r n , ,g ready supply of pens, pencils and paper. 2 Q They were cheerful, smiling and calm, cool and col- i lected even if you couldn't make up your mind as to what i' ' 'I ,gg you wanted. These ladies tried to make things even pg Ig better for us by increasing the inventory and by devising ' a take a number and wait system . HZ Grace Hovland and Lib Schaare
