Girls on tlie rodeo team were interviewed and judged on personality, liorsemansliip, appearance, poise, and knowledge of liorses. Along with barrel racing and pole bending, girls performed tlie Miss Rodeo of Aineriea pattern on horseback. Veroniezi Martin, Mzlrli Hunter, Patty lizirnliouse were happy winners. 135

Girls learn port of rodeo Girls' rodeo team learned the arts of goat tying, pole bending, barrel racing, ribbon and calf roping. They performed along with the boys' team for the Japanese visitors and put on demonstrations for students. iders enter Parada del Sol Parada del Sol, Parade of the Sun, is an annual rodeo event sponsored by the Scottsdale Jaycees. Both English and Western riders from Judson participated in the parade. Color guard prececded the rest of the riders from Judson A crowd of over 200,000 people turned out to observe the annual event. 136
