MARICOPA BEATEN, 26.0 A game but outmanned team of Maricopa Rams became the next victim of the Judson juggernaut. Scoring in every quarter, the Cougars racked up a com- fortable lead and then substituted freely in the last two quarters. The fine Cougar line completely contained the Maricopa offense and opened the way to the goal line for Richie Moe, Dave Hornsby, Rex Wilmans and Fred Doyle. The Cougars struck quickly in the first period when senior quarterback Mike Reagan tossed to Don Kirk for 20 yards on a tackle-eligible play. Another lineman scored judson's next six points when guard Mike Einbender picked off a Duncan fumble and ram- bled 15 yards for the score. Fullback Dave Hornsby punched over from the 2 in the third period to cap a 70-yard sustained drive and a few minutes later quarterback Reagan went 40 yards up the middle to cap the scoring. . Orme started strong and at halftime Judson left the field trailing 7-O. But after intermission the Cou- gars surged ahead on runs of 40 yards by Larry Jack- son and 35 yards by Dave Hornsby. With only two minutes remaining in the game Orme struck through the air for a t.d. The all-impor- tant extra point was blocked when Judson's All-State guard, Barry Weiss, crashed through the line. The defeat for Orme was it's first in more than 5 years. Senior quarterback Mike Reagan engineered a 70-yard sustained drive and scored from 8 yards out to catapult Judson into the lead. Dave Hornsby added 6 more points when he cracked over left guard for 50 yards. Paradise Valley returned after intermission and crashed over for two quick t.d.'s in the bitterly fought contest. Mzke Reagan Steve Shawler ferry Stevem Fred Stiler ST. jOHN'S SCALPED IN HOMECOMING, '32-O The Indians left the reservation and got slapped down on Judson's home field in the very first Home- coming game in judson's history. In an awesome dis- play of power, the Cougars sent their fine backs again and again across the Indians' goal line. St. johnls was kept bottled up constantly deep in its own territory by the fierce defense of the Cougar line, and twice Indian backs were caught in their own end zone. The homestanding footballers scored the first time they got their hands on the ball and added points in every quarter. SETON STONED, 21-7 Seton brought its undefeated, highly regarded Sen- tinels to Judsonland for the season finale and the showdown battle for the Class B Independent cham- pionship. Judson was not to be denied and came away from the game with a victory, its first win over Seton in three tries, and a state title. The Cougars started fast with two quick rallies in the first quarter, added another in the second frame, and led Zl-O at halftime. With four minutes remaining in the game, Seton tossed into the end zone and converted for its only score. The Cougar line completely rhrottled the Sen- tinel backs and held Seton to 62 yards rushing for the entire game. TOM Troup Barry Wert: Rex Wilmam Mike Yeager - 144 i I r I
