SUPPLY While it is an accepted fact that every man, division, and department on the ship is essential to its effective operation, the spectacular feats of the weapons personnel, the physical presence of the engineering efforts and the hectic pace of operations sometimes make us overlook the fact that without those men o the Supply Department none o the others could meet their committments In reality, it should be called the Supply and Service Department for while it is true that they supply us with those spare parts essential to the continued operation o equipment, probably their greatest contribution is in their servic-e They eed us the best ood o any ship in the leet, which in itsel , is a priceless commodity Then add to it the service o the barbers laundrymen, ship s 'store operators and stewards, and one is able to appreciate their tremendous contribution to the fay Dee
