LCDR William A. Weldon, a native of Montgomery, Alabama, enlisted in the Naval Reserve in June 1965. He graduated from Officer Candidate School in August 1968, and received his commission as Ensign in June 1969. LCDR Weldon served as Main Propulsion Assistant in USS MONMOUTH COUNTY CLST-10325 from August 1969 to July 1970. g Following a tour as Enlisted Programs Officer at Navy Recruiting District, Columbia, South Carolina, LCDR Weldon served as Navigator in USS AUSTIN CLPD-41 until November 1974. His next tour was as Commanding Officer, Naval Reserve Center, Oshicosh, Wisconsin. From there, LCDR Weldon graduated from Surface Warfare Officer Department Head Course and reported to USS JOSEPHUS DANIELS in July 1977.
