Usually we received only fuel, mail, and perhaps some emergency repair parts from the lone oiler with which we made rendez- vous. On four occasions, however, half the fleet was there with us as Service Force ships of all types restocked, rearmed and refueled the combatant ships that formed Task Group 60.2. In either case, replenishment at sea was always an all-hands evolution.
