FINE ARTS We seek to add some gentle touch For life is not lived without beauty and such. The Fine Arts department envelopes not only painting, music, drama, and the other arts, but also the ability to grace life with the b ter elements in us. Their intent is to help cultivate the quality of listening to some inner quiet goodness which brightens the path of everyone it crosses. INDUSTRIAL ARTS If a man works to learn all he can With both hands and head, he’s twice the man. For the vocationally minded stu- dent, the facilities of our own “shops” are available. Here the student learns to apply the aca- demic skills of thought and de- duction to the industrial skills of mechanics and construction. From our fine teachers’ instruction, he can go on to a vocational-technical school or into the business world with a greater confidence because of his experience. LANGUAGE To carry a man to castles in Spain, Or set him assail in a boat on the Seine. Through studying: the lan- guage and cultures of foreign lands, it is the hope of those of the language department that an atmosphere of understanding toward those who are different will be formed. By appreciating the great stories and customs of other people, a richer appre- ciation of our own language may develop. i El espanol es muy importante, verdad ? PHYSICAL EDUCATION Inspiring each person to search, to strive To catch the glory in being alive! People, especially young people, of today’s world want to be very much alive. Only if they are strong are they able to enjoy the lives they are creating for them- selves. Because this is so clearly understood by both teachers and students, Jordan’s physical education classes are always full, active, and envigorating. With a team of such lively youths, the world may very well belong to us.
