Born in Dawson, Georgia, in the early part of the 1900’s. Mr. McDonald’s life has been one of service and accomplish- ment. Obtaining his B.Ph. degree from Emory University, he then went to Auburn to earn his M.S. degree. From 1932 to 1935, Mr. McDonald devoted 3 years to teaching in Fayetteville. Georgia. In September of 1935, he became a member of the Columbus Industrial High School faculty, teaching Social Studies. He was promoted to Associate Principal, a post he held one year. In 1934 he went to Union Oil Corporation, but the love of education lured him back to the school system within 3 years. In 1959-1960. Columbus Junior High had his services. Then in 1960, he was offered the position of principal of Jordan’s Night High School. Seeing an opportunity to help many people. Mr. McDonald accepted. This year he is retiring after a long and successful career. The dedication and leader- ship of this outstanding educator will be long remembered and appreciated by the students and faculty of J.V.H.S.
