Senior QlaAbu MLdJbhif With great anticipation, yet with grave reluctance, we have finally come face to face with our future. For once we see ourselves as we are to be. The contingent plans of each individual are now being held in abeyance until after that final day when we shall walk across the stage and receive our diplomas. As we linger to do a little reminiscing of the past, we remember how timid and unimportant we felt when we entered Jordan four years ago as Freshmen. As the years passed, however, we learned to love our school and to feel a part of it. Many of us achieved distinction in the academic, commercial, or shop courses; others were recognized in music, art, dramatics, or sports. At times the path was hard and rugged; some were left along the way, but we are proud that we have survived. This last year we have come to realize that we are no longer living in a “do-nothing world but in an atomic and scientific world filled with all types of people of different races and creeds. We have studied, but we have not yet mastered, the art of getting along with these people. We, the graduating class of '52, are grateful for our school with its many departments. We leave with a sense of regret but also with a joy we never could have known but for the kindness, generosity, and guidance of our teachers. We realize that we are the spirit of America— the citizens of tomorrow. “In the service of mankind lo be A guardian god below; still to employ. The mind’s brave ardor in heroic aims. Such as may raise us o’er the gravelling herd. And make us shine forever. That is life . . Barbara Garrett. 20
