He has succeeded in establishing friendly relations with the boys and girls in assisting them with their many problems. Mr. Volmert is an efficient guidance director and his office is a busy center. Espec- ially has he been a dy- namic sponsor of the Key Club. MRS. MAXINE VOLMERT Secretary lo Guidance Counselor Our gracious dean of girls, Mrs. Brown, pos- sesses the gift of under- standing girls and their problems, and the abi- lity to cope with the many situations that arise. The lives of many girls are deeply in- fluenced by.contact with her. Every student is al- ways welcome in the dean's office and will receive personal, as well as educational advice, from a sympathetic listener. She has truly endeared herself to the students of the school. Lovely smile-happy manner-efficient secretary-sparkl- ing personality-these are the qualities by which we recog- nize Mrs. Volmert. As secretary to the director of guidance counselor, she files, catalogues, details information receiv- ed from colleges throughout the nation. EDUCATION-BUSINESS DAY ENDS WITH A DINNER Senior High was especially favor' ed by the photographer since the picture, taken, was focused upon our Senior High table. In the pic- tu're can be seen many of our facul- ty members. Approximately 375 teachers, school administration, business and professional people attended the dinner. Miss Ada Coffey, president of the Joplin Teachers' Association acted as Mistress of ceremonies.
