Our Hes! in Wu Mrs. Sara Ethel Rhode, a most efficient secretary to Mr. Deatherage, is always on the job. Her ef- ficiency keeps office routine moving smoothly. Her work is both stenographic and clerical. She is in charge of almost all of the school correspondence and permanent student records. Not only does she have clerical and stenographic duties but also her day's work includes countless routine tasks. We wish to express our appreciation to Mrs. Rhodes for her ever-ready willingness to help a student in distress. MRS. SARA ETHEL RHODE Secretary GLEN R. DEATHERAGE Principal Glen R as we fondly call our principal is often seen pacing down the main hall, head bent, with his hands fold- ed behind his back. Other times he can be seen standing near the auditorium center doors looking off into space, meditating - yes w- pondering on this problem or that issue-what is best to do for the benefit of all. True, he is very pleasant and understanding, but at times students find him quite stern. His subtle humor has made him very popular with the students. To the faculty and other school workers he is co-operative and sin- cere. Through his efficiency he has given j.H.S. an advanced and democratic school. His keen understanding of school prob- lems has stimulated in both faculty and students a greater interest in curriculum and co-curriculum activities.
