HENNING MISS HASWELL , , , h Sponsors Haughawout Seller Shaler Layton Shelton Playter V Y The senior class of 1935, after three happy years in Joplin High are now ready to pass into the greater and more difficult things in life. They are not setting out unprepared, for during these years in high school they have thought of something other than having a good time. In their sopho- more year they attracted considerable attention by their willingness to enter into the school's many activities, and the efficiency with which they completed what they had set out to do. In their junior year their excep- tionaly Clever play, The Amazons, was well received. Many juniors won high ratings in extra curricular activities. Through the work of orators, dehaters and musicians, Joplin has ac- quired a record not to be easily surpassed even by larger schools. Out- standing in all these activities have been the seniors. W'l1ile the class ranks very high scholastically, the twenty highest ranking students are as follows: Herman Shelton, lone Dinger, Emily Jane Buxton, Dorothea Hawley, Dorothy Dilworth, Josephine Davison, Nondas McDaniels, Mary Morris, Robert XVilliams, Harry Hurst, Mary Margaret Alcott, Ellen Berniece Stewart, liva Taylor, Bryan Mitchell, Lois Wiiiter, Lois Landon, Jeanette Crawford, Vivian Woolsey, Richard -Craig, and Dean Miller. 7 1t'C'llf'X'-.l'II
