Since the students voted to have displays instead of floats, the Pep Squad car was only one of the many cars which participated in the Homecoming parade. The Pep Squad, an active club of J.H.S., supported our Hurricane football and basket- ball teams with enthusiasm this year. In or- der to promote school spirit, they made flash cards and operated them during the ball games. Another special feature was the Pep Squad chants, which the members worked diligently on. The girls also assisted the cheerleaders in decorating the goalposts. The highlights of their social season was the Valentine Dance held on February Thir- teenth. This very successful dance was held in the P.E. building. Decorating for the Pep Squad Valentine Dance' was quite a chore, but these trusty members succeeded. Never has the Student Body better supported their team than this year. The enthusiasm which the dents of J.H.S. displayed was due partially to the lead 70 DONNIS SHOP and ABC CLEANERS stu 726,

SECOND ROW: james Cole, Ronnie Hargett, Clarence Duckworth, Billy Curtwright, Boo Smith, Raymond Elder, Gerald McGhee, Kenneth Willcockson, Jackie Gulley, joe I-Iathcoat, and Mr. Ross. The woodshop division of the F.T.A. is made up of students studying woodshop. Since the class and the club are made up of the same boys, they are very closely con- N-wb nected. This year the woodshop sponsored a sale in which all proceeds went to their club. In this sale they sold all types of Furniture which they had made in shop class. Each F.T.A. boy tries to live up to his Flub creed: I believe in honest and loyal labor, courteous co-operation of every worker, service to the community, increasing knowledge and skill, development of character, thrift, and leadershipf' OFFICERS---FIRST ROW: Harold Momany, secretary: Larry Montgomery, reporter: Ray- mond Elder, treasurer.
