Q66 The Spanish Club of Jonesboro High, stressing good will between the United States and their closest southern neighbor, enjoyed a most active -year. The club, composed solely of Spanish-speak- ing students, 'started the year with a bang by cop- ping second place honors in the Homecoming Dis- plays with their display, We Chews All But De- Featf' One of the big events of the year was the celebration of Pan-American Day in April. Other projects of the year were dances after football and basketball games to raise money for the club's ac- tivities. An exclusive banquet highlighted the year's activities. Throughout the year plans were made for a possible trip to Mexico during the summer of 1960. The Spanish Club Display, which carried out its clever theme most effectively, won second place in the Homecoming Displays.
