Wonder if this English student will find the mistake? One of the most modern techniques of learning, that of the use of private study booths, microphone, earphones, tape recorder, and record player, is being demonstrated in this Spanish Class. Being the first fully equipped laboratory in the state, it aids students in speaking and understanding a foreign language. I3

Yes, students find a variety of things to do in their English courses-reading, listening, writing, acting, publishing, speaking-and the prerequisite of each is thinking. The new in- terest in vocabulary is encouraging, for lan- guage is important to world understanding in this scientific age. xx CWA 'Tl-on NW? When Charlotte Barkley wrote her prize winning theme on Fire Prevention, she credited her win to the knowledge gained from her English courses at j.H.S.

In a well planned, fully equipped kitchen, home economics students, under the direction of Mrs. Moon, turn out' many tempting dishes. Cooking, however, does not top the list of subjects included in the course. The girls also show an expert hand whens, it comes to sewing. Many of the clothes in their ward- robes are the products of their own labor. Upon completion of the course, the girls are well versed in the art of home economics. KATIE MOON, B.S.E. at Henderson State Teachers' College With the help of Mrs. Moon and the sewing class, Linda Foster designs, cuts out, and sews an outfit of beauty. Wonder what tasty dish these girls are whipping up now? Through experimentation these home eco- nomic students prepare themselves to be capable homemakers of tomorrow.
