Do you need information on any subject? Two of the most helpful people at Jones Valley would have to be Mrs. Norma Jean Heard (left) and Mrs. Alice Morrow (right), who assist students in locating books for re- search on term papers on book reports. Mrs. Heard, a graduate of Ensley High School, enjoys reading and working in her church. Mrs. Morrow holds an A. B. from Birmingham-Southern and a B.S. from Peabody College. Mr. Don Orton received his B.S. and Master ' s Degrees from Mississippi State University. A new addition to the faculty this year, he teaches Driver ' s Education. Mr. Orton enjoys skiing and horseback riding. Mrs. Duluth Lagman, who holds an A. B. from Brenau College and an M.A. from the University of Alabama is our special Eng- lish teacher. She enjoys sewing, art, and reading. 29

Parlez-vous espanol? Holding an A. B. from Samford Univer- sity, Mrs. Dianne R. Johnson is welcomed as Jones Valley ' s newest French teacher. She also teaches sophomore English. Along with her busy schedule, Mrs. Johnson spon- sors the school bank. She enjoys reading, sewing, swimming, going to plays and movies, traveling, and playing the piano and flute. Mrs. Sharon Richardson, who received a B.A. from the University of Alabama, teaches Spanish and junior English. Mrs. Richardson enjoys all types of sports and reading. 28

P.E. Department keeps students physically fit. Holding a B. A. from Troy State University, Mrs. Rebecca Blumentritt teaches girls ' physical education. Mrs. Blumentritt enjoys all sports and hunting and fishing. A very busy and active person is Mrs. Elizabeth Harris. She is head of the girls ' Physical Education Department and has the full-time job of sponsoring the cheerleaders and the Sports Club. Mrs. Harris holds a B.S. from Auburn University, Coach Robert Herring holds a B.S. from Mississippi State University. He coaches football and basketball. Coach Herring teaches freshman history and enjoys water skiing and golf. Coach Robert Harris, head football coach, teaches phy- sical education and holds a B.S. from Samford University. Of course one of his main interests is football, but he also enjoys fishing and golf. 30
