With the chill winds of October 13, 14, and 15 came the annual Homecoming zlebration. Activities began with the girls' football game from which the Vets- onsored team emerged victorious over the Lettermen's. Other e vents of this iursday evening were the bonfire, victory cheers, and a mixer. Adding to the mounting tension on Friday night was the parade to the stadium iich included floats representing IC clubs. The climax of the weekend was the tme with Morton at which the Wolves performed their best and brought a victory. Concluding the gala weekend was the Homecoming dance, one of the largest IC's history. Plans were begun the previous spring by the dance sponsors, the ,ass of 1955. Alumni were notified of the date, making the dance a special re- lion. The highlight of the dance was the official Coronation of the queen and esentation of her court, The halls took on a festive look when Homecoming drew near, as the w al ls became more and more crowded with campaign posters for candidates. ,- - .f .x.-5 l X ss sf I 2 ff w , .7 W- 5 .l J' f ' bg Uq f ,A j9Y5EEE?'5i '1'?liEE,1x3 ' .-'.-'.1f 5-:V e1,..w- ..asQtAf.:e,..: 3 Lkfzsaieiy Q S 'I , xy' A, X lg, ' , -x .ar 'J A fa -1 .Wit a , LOTS LEGAN SEA au. g,g CI-ILOE C-OEPPER Choir Qi? . fig' Et.. :Q ,.., Y V 5.55: -A is T' QF: ' -1-9.. . cn... -5 1 'x. The co-chairmen, Dennie Sue Batis and Har Davis began plans earlyg committees were choseng and, everyone started working to set the scene for a Winter Prelude and the jazz of Stan Kenton's orchestra. The stage was finally set on November 25th, and when the couples arrived, they walked into a winter wonderland of lavender, blue, and white. A snowy hillside and a picturesque wooden bridge enhanced this fairyland. The tall, lanky Stan Kenton directed the orchestra in playing his distinctive type of mu- sic, artistry in rhythm. The traditio nal grand march was led by the committee chairmen. To sat- isfy the jazz enthusiasts, Kenton played The B ig Chase and The Peanut Vendor, two modern jazz selections. A romantic medley ended the evening, and Winter Prelude became a series ofimpressions in each person's memory. -...,.,.,:.s:.-.--4--V V .. H .515 - F - , -iff' ...- - NM 'W 1? ezx.. --.., ,g.,.
