The Grade School Band was organized in 1958 and is composed of pupils from fifth through eighth grades. They presented a concert at the May, 1959, PTA meeting. It consisted of concert pieces, ensembles, and solos. When they have completed lessons from the first grade Belwin and the first grade Rubank, they are promoted to senior band. V „J3 The Johnson high school band elected officers in September, 1958, as follows: president—Linda Blobaum, vice-president—Ruth Meyer, secretary-treasurer--Joyce Remmers, and news reporter— Doloris Schuette. There are fifty-two members in senior band. The band members participated in the Lincoln Band Day festivi- ties October llr 1958 and also Humboldt fair, September 11. The band parents organization helped purchase a baritone saxo- phone and a bass horn to add to the volume of the band. A spring band concert was presented to the public on April 3.
