DR. HARDY LISTON PRESIDENT I have peculiar pleasure in extending greet- ings to the Class of 1951. In a sense, I am a member of the Class. We started as freshmen together— I in my first year as President of the Uni ' ersity and you in your first year in college. As parting time comes, I trust you shall find that you are held to your Alma Mater and to one the other by spiritual bonds and that this bcjok shall be an instrument to that end. I would leave with you the word UNDER- STANDING. One of the major aims of your college course should be to ' seek UNDER- STANDING-Understanding of the physical universe, of society and its institutions, of man and human relations, and of God. I hope that your four years in college have given vou a good start on the wav to UNDER- STANDING and that through the fuller un- derstanding of vour generation our world ma ' hnd and maintain peace. DR. H. L. McCROREY PRESIDENT EMERITUS

DEDICATION Too long has the vigilance and the efficiency of our night watchman been o ' erlookecl. The ungodly hours, the bitter cold, the drenching rains, have found our nocturnal guardian impeccably impcrturbed. To this unsung protectorate whose mute lo ' e for our Alma Mater is only audible to all those who respect him, we do dedicate this yearbook, with esteem and gratitude. The Bull Staff Paae Seven
