Wilson Most Talented Gloria Peters Eddie McGirt Best All-round Geraldine Gordon WILL AND TESTAMENT OF THE SENIOR CLASS OF 1947 State of North Carolina County of Mecklenburg City of Charlotte We, the members of the Senior Class of 1947, being cognizant of the fact that an end must soon come to our blissful and tearful days spent at our dear institution and that, ere night falls, we leave our footsteps on these sands of time, and in order to prevent anv legal controversies, after our decease, over our enormous accumulations, do seize this moment to make our final testament. The Class of 1947 of Johnson C. Smith University, claiming full health of bixlv and mind and believing ourselves fullv capable of disposing of all our vvordlv belongings, do declare this our last Will and Testament and render null and void anv wills previously made by us. Such accumulations and estate as it has pleased kind Fate to bestow upon us we dispose of as follows; It is our desire that all expenses incurred through our burial services be met by those thousands of dollars that were supposed to have reached us from home but never did. To our dear Alma Mater, that has so effectively served humanity through the years, we f)ledge cur unwavering loyalty and support as long as there is a Johnson C. Smith. We leave with this promise. To Dr. McCrorey, the Administration and Faculty, we do will and bequeath our sincere thanks and appreciation for their untiring efforts and useful service to the University and especially that part of which we ourselves have fortunately partaken. To our beloved parents who have spent the best years of their lives struggling and sacrificing that we might continue our education, we express our indebtedness and do hereby declare to shape our hereafter that it will bring them only joy and contentment in their old age. To all our fellow schotjlmates whom we leave behind, we will and bequeath all the solutions to the problems that are sure to come in your Senior year, and our abilities, good sense and patience, that it took to solve them. To all who may come after us we offer congratulations for choosing this our Alma Mater and may they enjoy some of the luxuries that were denied us during our sojourn. We do hereby appoint and constitute the President of the First National Hank i)f C harlottc and the County Judge to execute this our last Will and Testament.
