National Honor Society Taps 43 New Members orty-three students were recognized on March 29 when new National Honor Society members were inducted at the ceremony held in the Theatre. Marla Ford, a 1981 graduate and former NHS president, was the featured speaker. The evening was highlighted by speeches from Anthony Brown, invocation: Julienne Butler, welcome: and Terri Elrod, review of projects. Principal Joan Brooks introduced Ford. Vicki Bennett gave recognition to current members, and Denese Steele closed the ceremony with the benediction. National Honor Society officers are Julienne Butler, president: Terri Elrod, vice-president, Susan Grindle, secretaryg and Michael Barrett, treasurer. Senior members include Sharon Branscum, Anthony Brown, Shannon Everhart, Rebecca Freeman, Julie Bickerdike, Jesse Campos, Robert Cantrell, Kelly Cluis, Allen Day, Dahlia Dotson, Lisa Freeman, Eugene Geh- ring, Michele Havens, Julie Hilton, Chris Jerger, Lynn Mann, and Alfred Mathis. Also included were Michael Matlock, Curt Priddy, Jeanelle Pruitt, Sloan Regas, Christina Schultz, Michelle Sigler, Kimberly Sluder, Alfred Chip Smith, Carmen Stokes, Julie Stout, Myriam Victoria, Eva Wallace, Kevin Wells, and Kimberly Wilson. Juniors and sophomores must have an average of at least 90 and must show active school support, said Bennett. Juniors inducted were Amy Cohen, Paul McCown, Jodie Page, Sangita Patel, and Kristy Swan. Sophomores selected were Stephanie Blissite, Melissa Bumpers, Jessie Grubb, Mark Jerger, Melinda Morris, Carl Nunn, Susan Smith, Lola Starling, Jill Wilkerson, and Jeff Williams. Rozell,andDeneseS ff -N New members received a Brandon Cri ell, Chet D mbership card as old members Denise Edwar , ames, Ramana Jones, Rozell Jones, David McLeod, Latrice Rhinehart, Andy Smith, and Lynn Taylor are junior members. Newly inducted seniors include Butch Adams, Angela Barry, Glen received a certificate. New members, along with old members, will attend bi-monthly meetings. At these meetings students will decide on monthly service proiects. One event planned for April is an Easter egg hunt for children of faculty members.
