tf 4 24 State Winners Seven students from the Metal Trades classes earned first places when they entered the 35th Annual Vocational Industrial Clubs of America State Competition in Fort Worth. Winning the honors for John Tyler were Bryan Beal, Ben Chapman, Austin Featherston, James Jones, John Mays, Billy Miller, and Alex Quinones. VICA is a youth organization available to students taking trades or industry type vocational classes. Through VICA, students work to develop leadership qualities beyond the extent of a normal classroom. Area and State Contests are held to en- courage students to learn and practice the skills of their particular trade.
