ARTS In shop and mechanical drawing, one learns to be accurate in his work. You may learn to draw many different things in exact scaling and proportion to thc actual object. A person develops a sense of accuracy in taking part in shop or mechanical drawing classes. These two courses are very well worth the time and effort spent in trying to learn. The library and study hall of T. H. S. are very important parts of our school in as much as they both offer many chances to advance studies. The library, of course, contains many new, interesting, and exciting books of both today and tomorrow. There are also books of yesterday in the large collection. There are biographies, novels, short stories, essays, Fictions, and every type book to suit the need of the person. The study hall fits its name perfectlyg that is exactly what it is. The student finds the study hall a perfect place to catch up on that home work that should have been done the night before. It is also an opportune time to do some of that visiting with those friends that you havent seen since yesterday. Of course, you must stay quiet, and that is usually very hard to do. Mrs. Josephine Messer, who is a graduate of Texas State College for Wfomen, graduated from this particular college with a B. S. and a B. A. She is in charge of the student council and the library. THE SENICRS The seniors want to sincerely thank Mr. Valdon Holley for the unfor- gettable sets he made and the excellent director, Mrs. lfva Thomas. Carrying leading roles were Mickey Trimble and Kay Howard with Helen Morgan, Mike Pengra, Norman Eaton, Carolyn Sullivan, jerry Payne, Sylvia Russell, and Carolyn Parker. Too numerous to mention were the spirits and settlers, but without their wonder- ful cooperation, the play could not have been a success, The student director was Noamie Stiles with committee heads Roy Roberson, john Bass, Alene Wfalton, Gail Young, Fred Brule. The entire stadium seems to be on its feet. The game was held at T. C. U. Stadium in Fort Worth, Texas. TYLER vs Looks as though the hall might be under there, someplace! The Blue and White and the Black and Gold scramble for it with guards posted by both teams. The crowd looks puzzled, and so do we. jim Davis and the referee ap- proach the play arm in arm only to discover that the ball only made a quick change of hands here and then raced on to greener pastures. ABILENE An Eagle is hit low and then high in a show of Tyler teammanship. This Characteristic is the main reason Tyler's Lions marched un- defeated to the State finals. The parts didn't fit in place this game. Tyler covers the ball. The fine Abilene players found Tyler a hard-hitting foe. The Eagles learn' ed a new verse that Saturday. You beat the BEST when you beat Tylerfl And that they did. Charles Milstead, with Steve Smith and john Campbell rushing in to help, forces the Abilene ball carrier out of bounds.
