From the thousands of different spare parts stocked onboard, and thousands of dollars each payday, to the hun- dreds of meals prepared daily and so- das in the vending machines, Supply Department is what keeps us going. Their duties are wide and varied: pro- viding spare parts and office supplies, doing laundry, stocking the candy and sodas in the vending machines, operating the ship's store, cutting the crew's hair, and paying the crew is all their job. To S-2, food means from the grocery list for a family of 350 to scrubbing the dishes. And every two weeks, the same men that line up for meals, line up for a paycheck. Truly, one could argue that the S that iden- tifies each supply division, rather than Supply , stands for Service . BT' i I i hi ENS Prentice E. Armstrong Disbursing Officer E I u V i df
