SECRETARY 0F THE N V L The Secretary of the Navy, the Honorable Mr. Lehman, paid his second visit to JOHN RODGERS during this deploy- ment. Ironically, his first visit, on August 17, 1983, was also while JOHN RODGERS was deployed in the eastern Medi- terranean Sea. SECNAV Lehman spoke to the crew during a brief address, commending us on our performance, and outlining his position on our mission in combatting terror- ism. After answering a few questions and exchanging plaques with the Captain, he took a short tour of the ship before departing.
