R DIVISION V Sr The proud men in the red hats showed their colors during the MED 83 deployment. By performing countless repairs to machinery and other equipment they served behind the scenes to insure battle readiness whenever and wherever the ship operated. Comprising the backbone of the repair parties, their concerted effort and dedication proved to be the mainstay of the ship ' s protection. Some of our many accomplishments: 52 successful helo landings in four days, emergency repairs to the accom ladder, in-shop repair of a gear for the SPS-40 radar. Red D.
