FORMER COMBAT SYSTEM OFFICER Combat System Officer Lieutenant Commander John P. Neagley Lieutenant Commander Neagley was born in Utica. New York, and is a 1982 graduate of the University of New Hampshire. After attending Surface Warfare Officer School he served as Gunnery Officer onboard USS WHIPPLE (FF 1062). In 1987 he received orders to USS CORAL SEA (CV 43) where he served as Boilers Officer until 1989. From may 1989 to December 1990 Lieutenant Commander Neagley attended Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey. CA, where he received his Master of Science degree in Financial .Manage- ment. Lieutenant Commander Neagley then reported to Surface Warfare Department Head School in Newport. Rhode Island, graduating in August 1991. After completing AEGIS Training in May 1992. he reported to Pre-Commissioning Unit JOHN PAUL JONES (DDG 53) to assume duties as Operations Officer, then Combat Systems Officer. Lieutenant Commander Neagley ' s awards include the Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal. Meritorious Unit Commendation. Bailie Efficiency Ribbon (2).
