COMMAND MASTER CHIEF IVlasier Chief Roebuck enlisted in the navy in August 1970. After completion of recruit training, he attended Boiler Technician A School, located at Naval Training Center. Great Lakes. Illinois. His first tour of duty was aboard USS D RE.SS ( DD ■SSOi uhere he was assigned BTFN and was ad- vanced to the rates of BT3 and BT2. In September 1974. Master Chief Roebuck attended Boiler Technician B School and upon completion received orders to Shore Support Group San Diego, California. In February 1976. he received orders to L SS R.ANGER (CV 61 ) where he was advanced to Boiler Te chnician First Class in June 1977. i ■ 1 r KB wl IS fgm 1 mw- 1 •• Wm WM Master Chief Roebucks next assignment was shore duty at Fleet Training Center. San Diego. California where he served as an instructor. His ne.xt Assignment was back to sea aboard the USS WADDFLL (DDG 24) until December 19S.S. In February 1986. he received orders back to Fleet Training Center, San Diego. California. In June 19S9, Master Chief Roebuck received orders to Mobile Training Team, [iastem Pacific. FORMER COMMAND MASTER CHIEF Command Master Chief QMCM(SW) Tony Wells QMCM(SW) Tony Wells is a native of Detroit, Michigan and enlisted in the US Navy in 1972. After Recruit training at Great Lakes, Illinois, he attended Quartermaster A School in Newport, Rhode Island. In February 1973 he reported to USS NIAGARA FALLS (AFS-1 ) the first of many duty stations, including COMUSNAVPHIL Subic Bay. Naval Station Long Beach, USS WICHITA (AOR-1 ), USS WABAS (AOR-5). USS FLINT (AE-32). and the Bureau of Naval Personnel as the Senior Quartermaster Detailer. Master Chief Wells is the recipient of many awards and decoration which include the Navy Commendation MedaKtwo awards). Meritorious Unit Commendation. Naval Battle Efficiency Ribbondhree awards). Good Conduct(five awards). National Defense Service MedaKtwo awards). Sea Service Deployment Ribbon(four awards) and the Navy Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon. Master Chief Wells also wears the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist insignia, awarded after qualification in August 1982 aboard USS WICHITA (AOR-l ). QMCM(SW| Wells holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of the State of New York. In September 1991 he reported aboard USS JOHN PAUL JONES (DDG-53), to assume duties as Chief of the Ship. Master Chief Wells is the father of two children, Terrencc and Toya. Master Chief Wells transferred from USS JOHN PAUL JONES (DDG-53) to Fleet Technical Support Center Pacific where he is the Command Master Chief.
