They collect money for the activity tickets and distribute the John Hay Ledger. The money collected from the activity tickets is used to support the Ledger and to help the athletic department. THE HAY RIDE Committee members start the year's work by distributing questionnaires to seniors who fill in a list of activities and state their preference for class motto, class flower, and class colors. The year-long job is under way. Then the Hay Ride committee turns to writing copy for all organizations, drawing up senior panels, making up, and finally pasting up dummies for printing. After that comes proof-reading of copy and at last early in March the book is off to printer and binder. Art classes work under the direction of Mrs. Helen Chudoba. art instructor, to make the incidental drawings in the book.
