and excitement abounded as the a part of the Shamrock Regiment, played during assemblies, football games, and parades. The new director, Mr. Gravett, Drum Major, Mark Lush, and all the members of the Regiment worked hard to produce their musical numbers. They got up early to attend daily seven AM practices and weekend perform- ances. This year at the Silverado Days Parade they won the Sweepstakes Award, which is awarded to the band that ives the best overall performance. The hamrock Regiment, consisting of the band, colorguard, and drillteam, won not only the Sweepstakes Award but also the Best Music Award. lt was a victorious day for the Kennedy people! It not only proved that the Shamrock Regiment is number one, but also that their music has the sound of spirit. Photographs: 2. Director Mr. Gravett takes great pride in directing the Kennedy band. 3. While holding the Sweepstakes Trophy high into the air, the Sham- rock Regiment show that they are atft. 4. Mark Lush shows that being a Drum Major is not easy. It takes a lot of time and self- discipline. 7. Shelley Estrada, like the other band members, has her own special way of showing spirit. 8. These thirty-five girls marched, danced, and smiled their way to the top! They performed at several parades, field shows, and assemblies. With bright smiles and enthusiasm the determined team danced their way to top awards. Under their excellent advisor Karin Lush, and head leader Evamarie Ferrer, first assistant Christine Collier, second as- sistant Caroline Badovan, and recalls Lisa Carillo and Bene' Hornak they performed with perfection throughout the year. Presi- dent Stephanie Camalig, Secretary! Treasurer Jennifer Gloe, and Historian Sheri Yamanishi have devoted their special time and effort to various tasks. By the end of their fun learning experience, the Col- leens found the true meaning of friendship, support, caring and sharing. 1. Drill Team.
