S. Naval Reserve, September 1, 19115. lle subsequently advanced in rank to Rear Admiral to date from February 13, 1974. llis early Navy assignments included duty at N.-IS Cecil Field, jacksonville, Torpedo Squadron SEVENTY- FOUR, Attack Squadron TWENTY-F1l Eg CIC Controller onboard USS ,fll1DW,.f1 Y KCVA-1112 as Operations Officer on the Staff of Commander Fleet Aircraft Service Squadron FIVE. Ile joined the Staff of the Commander in Chief, U. S. Pacific Fleet as lntelligence Officer in November 1957. ln. August 1960 he reported as Executive Officer of .flttack Squadron NINE 1'1 -TllREE, and in Jlarch 1962 assumed com d h ' d 7 ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' man oft at squa ron. lollowzng duty as llead of the junior officer rlssignment section, Bureau of Naval Personnel, he joined USS FRANKLIJV D. ROOSEVELT KCVA-122 as Operations Officer and in March 1966 assumed duty as Executive Officer. ln july 1967 he reported as Warfare Officer and Strike Warfare Officer on the Staff of Commander SECOND Fleet and in August 1968 became .fissistant Chief of Staff for Plans. Ile assumed command ofthe USS .f1RNlfB lLKA-56j in October 1969 and from january to june 1971 served as a Member, Staff Commander Naval Air Force, U. S. fltlantic Fleet. Ile next commanded the USS 1'ORRIi'S7'f1l, KCV.-1-592 from .Uay 1970 to .Vovember197'7 Ile reported in November 1972 as Assistant Director for Captain Detail ffiviationj, Bureau of Naval Personnel. ln December 1973 he became Deputy Director of the National ,Uilitary Command Center, j-3, joint Chiefs of Staff. ln Jlarch 1975, Rear Admiral Schoult: was ordered as Vice Director for Operations, j-3, joint Chiefs of Staff until he detached to attend th.e Senior Officers Ship ,Uaterial ,Uanagernent course enroute to Commander Carrier Croup TWO. llis awards include the Legion of llerit.
