Bruce Cargill gradu.ated from the University of Washington as an NROTC Midshipman earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was commissioned as Ensign in fune 1958, received orders to the Naval Air Training Command and in September, 1959, was awarded his r1viator's Wings. Early assignments as a pilot were with VS-24 and VS-27 at the Naval Air Station Norfolk, Virginia. While th.ere, he deployed aboard the USS V,-TILLEJ' FORCE, USS ESSEX and USS INTREPID to the Mediterranean and North Atlantic waters. Commander Cargill attended the U. S. Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, California from 1963 to 1965. ln 1966, he completed further study at the .Uassachusetts Institute of Technology graduating with degrees of Master of Science in Hleronautical Engineering and Engineer of fleronautics and Astronautics. His next tour of duty was at the Naval A ir Station, Lemoore, California, with VA-22, flying the A-4 Skyhawk. Ile made two combat deployments to Southeast flsia in USS R.-INCER and USS HON 11OM.'1iE RICHARD earning sixteen .4 ir Medals, a Navy Commendation Medal amd the Vietnamese Cross of Callantry. ln 1969, Commander Cargill reported to the Naval A ir Test Center, Patuxent, Maryland and was assigned to the Weapons Systems Test and Flight Test Divisions. As Program Manager of the Automatic Carrier Landing System Project, he worked extensively with most of the Navy's aircraft carriers and many Naval Air Stations. Following refresher training at NAS Lemoore, Ca., he reported to Vfl-113, also at Lemoore, as Executive Officer and again deployed to the Culf of Tonkin aboard USS R.-INCER. ln April 1973. Comnzander Cargill became Commanding Officer of VA-113 and upon returning to CONUS was awarded the Distifngn,i.gl1gd Flying C,-Ogg, Commander Cargill underwent Nuclear Power Training followed by an assignment on the Naval Air Force Atlantic staff as the Senior Member of the Electronics Examining Board. Captain Jerry 0. T attle, USN Commanding 0 ficer Captain Tuttle assumed command of USS JOHN F. KENNEDY KCV-672 on May 14, 1977. Captain jerry O. Tuttle enlisted in the Navy in February 1955. Shortly thereafter he was selected for the Naval Aviation Cadet KNAVCADX Program. He reported to Pensacola, Florida in july 1955, and was designated a Naval Aviator upon completion of flight training in October 1956. Assignments in Captain Tuttle's career inclu.de: Staff of Commander Naval Air Force, U. S. Atlantic Fleet, Commanding Officer and Executive Officer, Attack Squadron EICHTY-ONE, Executive Officer, Attack Squadron ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY-FOUR, Aide and Flag Lieutenant to Commander in Chief, U. S. Pacific Fleet, Instruc- tor, Attack Squadron. FORTY-FOUR, Maintenance Officer, Attack Squadron FIFTEEN fduring this tour he flew 210 combat missions over North Vietnamjg Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D. C., Attack Squadron ONE HUNDRED TWELVE, and Fighter Squadron ONE HUNDRED TWELVE. Prior to his tour as Com- manding Officer of USS KA LAMAZ00 KAOR-61, he had command of Attack Carrier A ir Wing THREE in USS SARA- TOCA fCV-60j. Captain Tuttle made his one-thousandth arrested carrier landing aboard USS SARATOCA in january 1975. In fuly 1961, Captain Tuttle attended the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, where he attended the postgraduate and undergraduate schools simultaneously. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications Engineering in fune 1963. In 1968, he attended the Naval War College at Newport, Rhode Island. He received his Masters Degree in International Relations with honors from the Command and Staff school in July 1969. Captain Tuttle has been awarded two Distinguished Flying Crosses, two Meritorious Service Medals, twenty- three Air Medals f18 Strike flight and five individual awardsj, four Navy Commendation Medals and various other campaign medals. Captain Tuttle, a A12-year-old native of Hatfield, Indiana, is married to the former Ifarbara Honifay of Pensa cola, Florida. They have five children.

Captain lack C. Presley, USN 1 Commander Carrier Air Wu One Captain Presley, a native of Peru, Nebraska, attended school in Yakima, llashington. Entering the Navy as a Naval Aviation Cadet in March 1955, he received his wings and commission as an Ensign in August 1956 and was assigned to Fighter Squadron Fifty-Two flying F211-3 Banshees aboard USS BENNINCTON and USS TICONDEROCA . In March 1959, Captain Presley was assigned to Fighter Squadron One Hundred Twenty One as an instrument instructor in the F9F-8T aircraft. Following a two-year tour at the U. S. Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California where he received a Bachelor of Science Degree, he was assigned to Attach Squadron Sixty-four flying A-4 Skyhawlfs from the USS ENTERPRISE and USS AMERICA. His next assignment was as Assistant Air Operations Officer on Seventh Fleet Staff Det Charlief, ln 1966, Captain Presley reported to the Naval Air Test Center, Patuxent River, Maryland. After completing test pilot training, he served as a project pilot at Flight Test and then returned to the U. S. Naval Test Pilot School in 1968 as an instructor. ln1969, he became the first exchange tutor on the staff of the British Empire Test Pilot School. He transitioned to the A-6 intruder at Whidbey lsland,ll'ashington while attached to Attack Squadron One Hundred Twenty Eight. He reported to Attack Squadron One,Hundred Fifteen as Executive,Officer in ,luly 1, 72 aboard the USS JIIDWAY and assumed Command of the squadron on 6 fuly 1973. Captain Presley served as Assistant Project Manager for A-6 aircraft at the Naval Air Systems Command from july 197-I to December 1975. On 20 August 1976, Captain Presley assumed command of Carrier Air Wing One aboard USS JOHN F. KENNEDY. Captain Presley was promoted to his present rank on April 18, 1977. Captain. Presley holds the following awards and medals: two Distinguished Flying Crosses, the Bronze Star Medal, four Air Medals, nine fStrihe Fliglzitj Air lledals, two Navy Commendation Jledals, and numerous unit and campaign awards. He has accumulated over -1300 hours in 55 types of aircraft. Captain Presley is married to the former llilda ,lo-An Schneider of Yakima, Washington and currently resides in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
